Tekken World Tour 2018 Returns with Tekken 7

Publisher Bandi Namco has revealed that the Tekken 7's pro league will happen this year with Tekken World Tour 2018.

Confirmed through a new trailer the footage shown is from last year's tournament. The website is now up but light on details but reveals some information.

This year the 2018 World Tour will feature 1 global leaderboard. Players can earn points at each Tour events, meaning player performance will be tracked regardless if you play in the European, Americas, or Asia/Pacific region.

Events will be divided into 2 categories, Challenger and Master. Players will earn points for finishing in the top 16 of Challenger events and top 32 in Master. Each offline event will feature a prize of $1000 for the top 4 in a Challenger Event and $5000 in Master Event.

The tour will include around 40 events in 24 countries and will feature offline and online tournaments. The tour will begin with the Final Round 2018 on March 16-18th in Atlanta, Georgia. The complete list of offline tournaments is available but subject to change.

The 2018 Tekken World Tour Finals will be held in November in Amsterdam, Netherlands with a field of 20 players for 2 days. Day 1 will consist of last chance qualifier tournament that will be open to all players, with the winner joining the top 19 points earners in the Tekken World Tour leaderboard in Day 2's Final field. The finalist will compete for $25,000 prize pool.

The top 4 players from the leaderboard will be divided into 4 groups but the top point player will remain hidden. Players, based on their leaderboard placement, will choose which group to compete in before the top players are revealed.

Players will face other in round robin format, with the top 2 finishers in each group advancing to the top 8. The player who wins the group advancing into the winners' bracket and the runner-up heading to the losers' bracket. The top 8 players will face off in the last player standing.

Tekken 7 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
