Fumito Ueda, the creator of Shadow of the Colossus and genDESIGN, has a gift for his fans to celebrate the new year. The studio’s official website updated on New Year’s Day in Japan to feature an image that has already led to plenty of speculation.
The image is of a young woman rising from where she lies upon a dais. She's surrounded by light. On the opposite end is a humanoid with thick leathery skin. Fans are trying to decipher the image with some believing the creature to be a threat to the girl or an ally.
This could be a teaser for the studio's next game since The Last Guardian was completed over a year ago. If this is the next project from the developers of The Last Guardian we'll most likely hear more at this year's E3.
