The last part of Nintendo’s press conference yesterday showed off their latest handheld – and the Nintendo DS’s successor, the 3DS. As Sony heavily focused on 3D games as well, you don’t need to wear those oversized glasses to experience portable gaming in 3D.
The Nintendo 3DS’s new features include a 3D adjuster (located on the side of the device) that adjusts the amount of 3D effect you want and a slide pad (analog features) on the inside. The top screen is 3.53 inches (slightly bigger than the DSi screen) and the touch pad is 3.02 inches. It also has two outside cameras that enables you to take 3D pictures. The rest of the 3DS’s features/changes haven’t been revealed yet.
In addition to new stuff, the 3DS will also have backwards compatibility, and will play both original DS and DSi games. Nintendo also plans to improve the handheld’s Wi-Fi connection, but more details are to be expected later on.
Nintendo also stated that the 3DS will also have a bevy of titles when it launches sometime in 2011. Among those launch titles will include Kid Icarus: Uprising, 64 remakes such as PilotWings Resort, Starfox 64, Paper Mario, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, as well as new iterations of Mario Kart (Mario Kart 3DS), Animal Crossing, and Nintendogs (Nintendogs + Cats).

Remake of StarFox 64? D= I need a 3DS once it arrives :D And btw StarFox's european name is much better, LylatWars.
They never said it was specifically 2011. It's any time before March 2011, when their fiscal year ends. Just sayin', could be November.
I'm never attracted to DS but I go for this one, I need to see the list of games I can play.
You are looking at a day one buyer right here. For both the 3DS and The Legend of Zelda.
Metal Gear Solid 3D: Snake Eater is what has me excited. Even though I didn't like the original DS, I'm thinking about picking this one up. The small list of launch titles already has me more excited than the whole DS library.
