Developer MercurySteam is showing multiple games at E3 2017. One of those games is Raiders of the Broken Planet, which received several minutes of singleplayer and multiplayer footage. We wanted to make sure you could see this gameplay, which you can watch in the video below:
There’s some light editing from otherwise uncut gameplay, because the videos were released as “B-roll,” which are usually specified to be shown in cut up parts, by industry standards. So, that’s what we did, because we go all out during E3 to show off as many cool titles as possible. Yours truly is watching three separate feeds right now to keep up and still worked on footage; in case you need to know how nuts this week is.
Raiders of the Broken Planet was briefly shown off during the Xbox press conference, as it’s one of the games that will take advantage of the Xbox One X 4K and HDR capabilities. Additionally, the game will launch on Playstation 4 and PC later this year, but no 4K options are yet specified for those platforms.
Raiders of the Broken Planet is an asymmetric shooter, which pits multiple people against one other, more powerful opponent. Developer MercurySteam is the creator behind the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow series. As such, some of the twisted visual style may look familiar to savvy viewers.
Additionally, MercurySteam has stealthily shown off a new Metroid game during the Nintendo Treehouse section. Metroid: Samus Returns will release on Nintendo 3DS and is said to be a reimagining of the original Game Boy game. This portable game will make use of the handheld’s 3D function, which some games are opting out of, prompting Nintendo to release a New 2DS in the near future.
Let us know if you’re interested in what you see in Raiders of the Broken Planet. We have plenty more E3 2017 news on the site, so stick around.
