Street Fighter V CFN Beta Is The Most Hated Fighting Game On Steam

Bad news for Street Fighter V CFN Beta, as it becomes the worst rated fighting game on Steam.

Publisher Capcom has recently needed to apologize for their lacking performance with Street Fighter V, while announcing better days with a free Beta that was held this week. In our previous news, we pointed out the company’s apology, where it admitted servers have been “less than optimal.” With a limited amount of hours left to run the Beta, it looks like Capcom may need to prepare another statement. As it stands, the Capcom Fighters Network (CFN) Beta for Street Fighter V is rated as the worst fighting game on Steam, out of 170 games.

At the time of writing, the Beta has accrued 1039 reviews with only 23% recommendations, which puts the game in the “Mostly Negative” approval rating. The list of problems piles on. For one, we were plagued by the startup crash issue, which is addressed on the game’s forums, but couldn’t be fixed on this end. That issue, however, is not the only thing people are complaining about. Particularly, a lot of people are having trouble connecting to others, disconnecting or not finding players at all, which is arguably the entire point of the tests. Control issues have also been noted, freezes that appeared in previous versions also still persist; the list goes on. The Street Fighter V CFN Beta has done nothing to instill confidence in an already annoyed audience, valiant as these new efforts may be.

Now, frankly, the continuation of such a flagship struggling to perform at standard does likely contribute to the current hatred. For instance, the Street Fighter V CFN Beta is rated lower than Steel Rivals, which is a game that didn’t even function, but also Final Slam 2; perhaps the worst fighting game we’ve ever played. That example might put this event into perspective, but it’s also telling that, after all this time, Street Fighter V is still not where it’s supposed to be.
