Nintendo seems to be on a pretty nice upswing right now and that might interest you. Aside from beefing up the Nintendo Switch with a few indie releases this week, the most important news from this week’s eShop update is a giant “Nindies Celebration Sale,” where a ton of interesting games get discounted. We’ll try to point you towards the most interesting titles, to sort of sort through the stack.
For one, the Steamworld games are all on sale and all of them are worth a go. Steamworld Dig is more of an adventure game and Steamworld Heist centers itself on strategy, depending on your tastes. Both are around half price on Wii U. Also on Wii U, Don’t Starve makes for an excellent survival game, certainly at just €4.75.
On Nintendo 3DS, the eclectic “Guild” series from developer Level-5 has some of its better releases on same. Crimson Shroud is a more traditionally-veering roleplaying game. Weapon Shop de Omasse is a shop simulator mixed with a rhythm game and a ton of charm. And Attack of the Friday Monsters! A Tokyo Tale might be the best kept secret on the 3DS; a short and sweet story about a little Japanese village, strongly reminiscent of the finest that Studio Ghibli has to offer. All those games are half price as well.
For adventures with amazing pixel art style and a decent challenge curve, check out Xeodrifter and Mutant Mudds from developer Renegade Kid. Both of those 3DS titles cost €6.29
Last but not least, those with a Nintendo Switch should stop what they’re doing right now and go download the Splatoon 2 Global Testfire that starts today at 8PM CET. Saturday and Sunday will also have test matches, but you might want to set an alarm. Here are the remaining match times:

Please note that the last two are a bit different. To make it extra difficult, the Splatoon 2 Global Testfire is smack-dab in the middle of European Summer Time being enforced, so be extra careful.
