Pokémon Go, despite decreasing in popularity, is still being played by a lot of people and The Pokémon Company plans to make the game safer for everyone through more devices.

In an interview with Nikkei The Pokémon Company President, Tsunekazu Ishihara, stated:

"We intended to make a game for people to play outdoors, instead of at home. The potential that players could become too involved in playing the game [that they might walk into danger] was already an issue at an early stage.

To avoid the danger, we also released "Pokemon Go Plus," the smartphone-linked wearable device, so that "Pokemon Go" players do not have to always be looking down at their smartphone screens. Together with Nintendo, we are thinking of developing a new device that can be played more safely."

Pokémon Go was a massive hit when it first launched in Summer 2016, making headlines around the world and surpassing other applications such as Twitter and Tinder in daily uses. However,, players trespassing, driving, and in a few tragic cases dying were reported while playing the game. Since then Niantic Labs, the developers of Pokémon Go , have updated the game with numerous safety features and warnings to prevent players from being distracted while playing.

The Pokémon Plus bracelet launched in September, after being delayed, to make playing the game safer by providing players with the option to catch Pokémon and collect items from Pokéstops without looking at their device.

Pokémon Go is now available on Android and iOS devices.
