The official website for the Metro 2035 novel by Dmitry Glukhovsky revealed that the next game in the Metro series will launch sometime in 2017.
The site has a timeline of where each of the 2 games and the 3 novels take place within the universe. The final entry states "The next Metro video game" with:
It all adds up to something. Where the books end their story, the game will pick it up. An era of great discoveries lies ahead…
No date has been stated but it's highly likely that it'll be shown at E3 2017.
