Animal Crossing: New Leaf Update Eliminates Pesky Weeds from Your Town

The Animal Crossing UK Twitter account posted some great news for fans who've left their towns unattended for weeks, no more weeds.

In Animal Crossing: New Leaf not playing for weeks will cause weeds to grow and fill the houses with cockroaches, now these issues have been removed. The free update also adds amiibo support such as the ability to summon new villagers using amiibo cards, when they're available December 2nd. The patch will come pre-installed on all copies of the game made after November 25th. Downloading the patch will also change the title of the game to Animal Crossing: New Leaf Welcome amiibo!

Nintendo has announced that a fall Nintendo Direct will air focusing on Animal Crossing. The focus will be New Leaf and Animal Crossing for mobile devices, which was delayed to 2017.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf is now available for 3DS.
