Neil Druckmann, the creative director at Naughty Dog, has finally decided to give us some clarity to all the rumors surrounding the sequel to The Last of Us.
Back in June veteran voice actor Nolan North casually slipped that The Last of Us 2 was in development and recently Naughty Dog’s Josh Scherr dropping another hint during a stream of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection.
The prototype for The Last of Us 2 began work when the production for Uncharted 4 started, in addition to several other projects. However most of Naughty Dog is hard at work on Uncharted 4.
“We were brainstorming ideas for The Last of Us 2 with new characters; ideas for TLOU 2 with Joel and Ellie; ideas for a sci-fi game; ideas for a fantasy game, and building prototypes for each one of those ideas”
So it would seem that The Last of Us 2 is in production along with other games as well. However it’ll probably be a while before we see anything since Uncharted 4 is the primary focus for Naughty Dog as of now.
