Those hoping to experience the competitive Monster vs. Hunter gameplay shown in Turtle Rock Studio’s Evolve won’t have to wait long. While the game won’t release until February 10 the developers of the game need people to the test their game and the strength of their servers. Starting January 15th at 9am PST Xbox One owners can download the open Beta, provided they have an Xbox One and Xbox Live Gold Membership, and begin playing.
Fans will immediately have access to Evolve’s “Hunt game mode. One player will take control of the monster, either the Goliath or Kraken, and face against 4 players who can choose one of eight hunters, Markov, Maggie, Val, Hank, Hyde, Griffin, Lazarus, and Bucket. All 12 maps will be available for “Hunt” when the Beta launches.
This Beta is exclusive to Xbox One and any character unlocks will carry over if you decide to purchase the full version of the game. Those who reserve the game over Xbox One will gain early access to the third set of Hunter and the Wraith monster, whose unlocks will also carry over to the main game.
If that wasn’t enough on January 17 at noon PST gamers will be able to play for the first time Evolve’s campaign mode “Evacuation”. Evacuation is a “dynamic campaign combining modes, maps, and victory effects that provides over 800,000 paths to glory. It gives you a ridiculous amount of variety and a different experience almost every time you play” according to the email sent.
Those hoping to opt into the Beta can download it on the Xbox Games Store.
