Indie developer Bojan Brbora introduced his single-player, adventure game, 4PM, to Steam Greenlight in January of this year. It quickly made its way through the system, getting Greenlit just weeks after its introduction.

4PM follows one day in the life of Caroline Wells, a bored, underpaid and overworked employee at a mediocre, boring corporate job. Players begin by arising with Caroline in a messy apartment, unenthused and not quite ready to take on the day. Thinking today will be just another day in her mundane life, Caroline has no clue what she is about to encounter and the big decisions she'll have to make.

You wake up, your flat is a mess, you have a terrible hangover, sounds of the city and police sirens outside. Another day in in[sic] life of Caroline Wells and her dull, corporate job. You get up, thinking that this is going to be just another day on your downward spiral, but what lies ahead are a series of life changing, cathartic experiences

This indie title "is a short experiential game," wherein players guide Caroline through a multitude of settings, each one having its own personal touch, adding to a much larger, solitary experience. It focuses on a story, ignoring the typical features of many games. No health bar and no inventory system allows for players to embrace the narrative, enjoying the game's "high production value," and "cinematic experience."

Announced this morning, 4PM will release on Steam for PC and Mac on July 9, 2014. If its trailer and screenshots have anything to say about the game, this indie title is looking like it's going to be a good one for adventure fans.

I'm thinking it will be similar to the likes of The Stanley Parable and, perhaps, Gone Home. Not too shabby if you ask me. However, I've been wrong before with many a Greenlit games. Let's hope for the best from this looker.
