Developer Camouflaj announced that their highly acclaimed mobile game, République, will be free all week as Apple’s Free App of the Week promotion. This is only available for the first episode of the game, but that should give players a nice taste already.
République is made by some industry veterans, who have racked up credits from titles such as F.E.A.R., Halo 4 and Metal Gear Solid 4. That’s quite the name drop.
In the game, players assist a woman called Hope, who is trying to escape from a prison encampment. Hope will require help with hacking into surveillance systems to get pasts guards and other obstacles. It’s that Metal Gear Solid link that does it. Strengthening that bond, République also features David Hayter, which most people will know as the voice of Solid Snake.
République needs iOS 7 or later. It’s optimized for iPhone 5, but also works on iPad. If you dig what you’ve been playing, a Season Pass for the whole thing will cost you $14.99.
You can catch République for free here.
