So, 2D sandbox project Edge of Space has launched its multiplayer with full online support. Here we thought the indie PC project had done so a while ago. We must’ve flaked on that.

Either way, the pixel art builder that features sharks with lasers can now be daunted with several other explorers. Moreover, all this digging and setting up bases comes with additional content. Its more prominent feature is the crossover content it receives from its paragon Terraria. These two games are so similar, they decided to bond together. That’s pretty nice.

Jake Crane of developer Handyman Studios had some words about the large update, stating:

Multiplayer support has been a long time coming and it’ll be awesome to see Edge of Space gamers team-up in some awesome co-op play. We’ve also added a ton more improvements to the overall look of the game, balanced gameplay mechanics, and even added a rewarding Training mode.  Finally, we’re really excited to begin adding some of the cool Terraria content in this update and look forward to seeing our fans enjoy all the fun features.

That certainly sounds like the promo pitch it’s intended to be. If you like the sound of that, you should definitely give the multiplayer trailer a peek.

Moreover, as a game approved through Steam Greenlight, it’s now available on Early Access. Temporarily, you’ll be able to buy one and get one for free, at a price of $12.99.

Edge of Space will receive even more Terraria content in later updates.
