Nintendo Shutting Down Wi-Fi for DS and Wii on May 20

Wii Shop Channel and DSi Shop will not be affected

By Grayshadow, Posted 27 Feb 2014

Those who are planning to cling to their Nintendo DS, Wii, and Nintendo DSi are in for some rough news. Nintendo Japan and AU have confirmed that they're shutting down Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection for DS and Wii on May 20. While online features such as online play, matchmaking and leaderboards will no longer be available, the Wii Shop Channel and Nintendo DSi Shop will remain online. Browsers for the DS and DSi will be gone as well as Wii's Delivery Channel, Hulu, Internet Channel and Youtube.
