Hot Wheels, as a game series, had a big hit back in the 90s with few titles for the PC and Playstation. A year or so ago, well-known racing games developer Milestone, rebooted the series with a new title called Hot Wheels Unleashed. The people who played the old Hot Wheels games both felt nostalgic as Hot Wheels Unleashed portrayed the games they used to play as a kid, and had a noticeable positive feedback from the players. With its semi-arcade, semi-realistic gameplay, Unleashed was favored as much as its competitors such as Forza, Need for Speed and Gran Turismo.
Milestone, seeing the immensely positive interest in Unleashed, revealed the sequel for the series with a big cinematic trailer. Named "Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged", it will actually bring more content and gameplay styles to the table than its previous installment. One of the notable new contents, according to the trailer, is the vehicle classes. As usual, Hotwheels in real life does not only make model cars, they also make bicycles, monster trucks, airplanes and has a diverse list of exotic vehicles. Milestone saw this opportunity and brought in extra types of vehicles to be raced against, which we’ll be sure it's going to be a nice addition.
The trailer further reveals more content such as new surfaces to drive, hazardous environments to watch out, new flexible driving maneuvers such as dashing and jumping, and most surprisingly takedown style racing we would see from the famous Burnout series. Not only that, there is now track editor mode to create your own tracks and livery editor to add personality to your vehicles too. Overall, Milestone’s new sequel for the Hot Wheels Unleashed is coming in “hot” and we are sure that it will make the fans of the series super excited.
Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged will be released on 19th of October this year for PC- on both Steam and Epic Games Launcher- Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch. It will also include crossplay between all platforms except Nintendo Switch.
