It is very odd to think the first Amnesia game, Amnesia: Dark Descent was released all the way back in 2010. Back then, everyone jumped on the bandwagon of playing Amnesia: Dark Descent and made videos of them playing through the whole story. Nobody actually thought of Amnesia becoming a well-known franchise in today's horror games market, and now beloved game developers, Frictional Games, are ready to release the fourth installment in upcoming weeks.
To keep the hype train on full speed, Frictional Games just released a 10-minute gameplay video to showcase the world of Amnesia: The Bunker. As you can guess, Amnesia: The Bunker will include a very depressing atmosphere with horror-inducing elements such as creatures lurking around you and the feeling of being watched all the time. To keep the immersion high, all of your vital information can be read by your hand. Your hand will show few signs such as color that indicates your health and gestures to show your current mood. Mood is a key element that also affects how you will potentially find a way to survive in the dark world of Amnesia.
One of the new additions to Amnesia: The Bunker is the non-linear, sandbox inspired gameplay. In previous titles, Amnesia followed a heavily story-ridden gameplay to deliver the world-building aspect in a beautiful way. We can still expect the same feedback from The Bunker in regards to storyline, but with addition of crafting and semi open-world elements scattered throughout the campaign. This way, players will have a freedom of choice as well as find unique ways to keep themselves away from the danger.
Amnesia: The Bunker will be released on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series S and Series X and PC on the 16th of May, 2023. Do not forget to note that date if you are a fan of horror games!
