BioShock 4 Has A New Narrative Lead

The unnamed fourth BioShock game has officially announced its narrative lead, and she has some good experience behind her.

BioShock 4 has been a bit of a mystery ever since it was announced back in 2019, but there has been some news for the first time in ages. The narrative lead on the game has finally been revealed, and it is Liz Albi, a writer who has worked on games like Ghost of Tsushima, Watch Dogs Legion, Far Cry 4, and Far Cry 5.

Liz Albi announced this news via a tweet that simply stated: “The dream is real! So happy to announce I've joined Cloud Chamber as Narrative Lead on BIOSHOCK.” So, it’s great to see that she appears extremely excited to be a part of a game franchise that has a whole lot of history behind and a fanbase that will likely be incredibly critical of any perceived incorrect moves that the new game decides to make.

Cloud Chamber, the development studio, was set up by 2K and immediately given the task of creating the still untitled fourth BioShock game back in 2019. A difficult task that will see the company producing the follow up to the acclaimed, but somewhat retrospectively criticized, BioShock Infinite, a game that released all the way back in 2013.

This is a game that we still have no real information about. We only really know the company developing it, that that company has a few old BioShock alumni from back in the day, and that it will, in some way, be a BioShock game. This is a franchise that generally leaves its worlds somewhat devasted in their wake with no real way to have a true sequel. Will this one be in Rapture or Columbia? Will it be in an entirely new city? There is no way to know and, seeing as the game has only now announced its narrative lead, the next entry in the BioShock franchise is probably a long time off. We shouldn’t expect it anytime soon.
