Razer has just announced the Razer Wolverine V2 Pro PS5 controller, and it is a thing of beauty. A sleek new pro controller that is officially licensed under the PlayStation brand and will work on both the PS5 and on Windows 10 compatible PCs. So, this thing is not just for console players, but also for those who need a highly customisable controller for their PC setup.
Razer announced and showed off the new Razer Wolverine V2 Pro controller on the Razer site, where it is also available for purchase. However, you may want to know a few things about this new device before throwing your hard-earned $249.99 at it.
What is the Razer Wolverine V2 Pro controller capable of? Well, it comes decked out with Razer’s Hyperspeed Wireless tech that will ensure a seamless connection to your device for pro-level play, it has a short actuation distance in its buttons and triggers to ensure immediate responsiveness to the needs of hardcore play, and it has a 3-million tap lifespan to ensure that you don’t have to buy another one for a very long time.
To be even more specific about what this thing can do, the Razer Wolverine V2 Pro controller allows for a trigger toggle that adjusts the amount of push that the triggers can take. This allows the controller to adjust its useability with regards to different genres of play. For instance, you want the trigger to depress quickly in an FPS and more slowly in a racing game.
You can also map extra triggers and bumpers based on the type of game you want to play and, lastly, there are two additional thumbstick caps that allow you to adjust the thumbsticks themselves based on how you want to play. On the site, they show how the shorter stick is best for players who prefer things like SMGs and shotguns while the taller stick is best for more defensive shooters, like snipers.
The Razer Wolverine V2 Pro controller is the controller for you if you need to get one over on other players as you fight your way across online battle arenas, but it will have less applicability to those who don’t want to play at a more professional level.
