Last week Sony announced the $549.99 price tag of the PlayStation VR2 headset alongside eleven titles for the new system. This list contains a range of shooters, horror, and puzzle games including new releases in The Dark Pictures and Hello Neighbour series.
The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR is an on-rail shooter featuring characters and locations from Supermassive Games' anthology series. In the announcement trailer, The Sailor Girl from Man of Medan and the alien Vampires from House of Ashes can be seen, as well as the town of Little Hope. Like Supermassive Games' last VR title Until Dawn: Rush of Blood, Switchback is a roller-coaster shooter that mixes action and horror.
Crossfire: Sierra Squad by Smilegate brings the popular FPS to VR. Featuring over sixty missions, thirty-nine weapon types (including grenades that can be caught in mid-air and thrown back at enemies), and seventeen kinds of enemies. Play either solo or with up to three friends against intelligent AI enemies and intense bosses and experience both sides of a paramilitary conflict.
In The Light Brigade, Funktronic Labs turn the infamous military charge into a roguelike shooter featuring procedurally-generated battlegrounds and physics-based gameplay.
Cities VR - Enhanced Edition is a VR version of the popular city-building sim Cities: Skylines. Developed by Fast Travel Games, Cities VR - Enhanced Edition tasks players with building a thriving metropolis out of an empty plot of land while balancing the population's needs.
Cosmonious High is a new IP from Owlchemy Labs, creators of Job Simulator and Vacation Simulator. Play as a rare alien called a Prismi and discover the mysteries behind Cosmonious High and meet the fun, colorful cast of characters that learn and teach there.
Hello Neighbor: Search and Rescue by tinyBuild Games and Steel Wood Studios is the latest title in the Hello Neighbor franchise. This puzzle horror game tasks the player with infiltrating and exploring their mad neighbor's house after he abducts and imprisons their friend.
Jurassic World: Aftermath Collection is a survival adventure game set between the events of the film Jurassic World and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Starring Laura Baily and Jeff Goldblum (returning as Dr. Ian Malcom), Jurassic World: Aftermath Collection by Coatsink sees the player trapped on Isla Nubla. The player has to avoid the islands' roaming dinosaurs while searching an abandoned research facility for a way off the deadly island. Also included is The Dino Viewer, an interactive living museum that lets the player get up close and personal with the dinosaurs of the Jurassic World franchise.
Enhanced versions of Pistol Whip VR, Zenith: The Last City, and After The Fall will be making their way to PS VR2 via a free upgrade for owners of the PS VR versions. Made by Cloudhead Games, Pistol Whip VR is a futuristic rhythm-based shooter combining gunplay and dynamic music tracks. Ramen VR's Zenith: The Last City is an open-world fantasy game with magic and sword-based combat, and will be available at launch. Zenith will be available at launch and owners of the PS VR versions will be able to upgrade to PS VR2 for free. Likewise, After The Fall by Vertigo Games (which will also have crossplay) is a co-op shooter set in a chilly post-apocalyptic Los Angeles, overrun by the zombie-like Snowbreed.
Finally, last but not least, is the fun, physics-based puzzle game Tentacular by Firepunched Games UG. Replacing the player's hands with tentacles, they control a giant, well-meaning sea monster as it helps out the locals of La Kalma.
