Final Fantasy XIV is a well-known MMORPG game, but what if you extract the "multiplayer" from it? The answer is not very far away because Square Enix did just that with the new patch that came out today. Patch 6.1, also known as Newfound Adventure, is considered one of the most significant updates the game has received since last year. It provides much needed assistance to those who want to explore the world without anyone's company.

The patch is 5 gigabytes on PC, but it sure does bring a lot. Aside from several new main scenario quests, Square Enix also added new role quests and chapters to the New Game+. Furthermore, this patch brought about a brand new storyline that follows the Endwalker expansion pack. But the most intriguing aspect of this update seems to be the modifications made for the beginning of the game. Most of the dungeons of the base game seem to have been designed friendlier for players who want to play by themselves. But what about the roles that the other members of the game are supposed to play? Well, the game does you a favor now and brings forth various NPCs to fill these roles.

While this is not anything new, it is still a big deal because the early stages of the game are modified to be friendlier for solo players, and this has not been the case before. Now introverts like me can enjoy the game without dealing with meeting other players! The official Final Fantasy XIV account tweeted that these changes are made to "ensure the best possible gameplay- alone or with friends" and I could not agree more. Many fans seem to love the new expansion, and the game is much more accessible than it was for more players now.
