The release of GTA Definitive Edition was one of the lowest points in the IP's history and recently Take-Two and Rockstar re-released GTA V for PS5 and Xbox Series despite Xbox users getting an upscaled version for free by playing the game on an Xbox Series console. In addition, the company decided not to provide free upgrades to those who owned the PS4 or Xbox One versions.
Now Take-Two just decided to take another step to showcase how little they care, a monthly service called GTA+.
Now you can pay a monthly fee of $5.99 to get exclusive bonuses and cash. GTA+ Members will receive in the first month of Membership (March 29–April 27):

GTA Online is the most played and profitable service in entertainment. But as the years go on new methods have been added to nickel and dime players such as Shark Cards for cash bonuses. Now, this is just the next step to add another monetization layer for a game that was released in 2013.
This may be an optional payment service but those diving into GTA Online without friends will be at a serious disadvantage. To the point that microtransactions are needed to take part in any content worth playing.
