Serenity Forge has released a new Doki Doki Literature Club related website featuring an alternate reality game. After months of delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the physical edition of Doki Doki Literature Plus has been shipped to retailers. Inside the package includes a number of collectibles such as poems, stickers, character stands, and a download code for the game’s soundtrack.
Not previously advertised are the Metaverse Enterprise Solutions business cards. Each copy of the game contains a random one for new characters like Ive Laster, Rea Vorte, Lib Musi, and Ro Teether. All cards contain a unique “UDB” code that can be used on the website, with an unclear solution how they all come together at the moment.
The original release of Doki Doki Literature Club had many ARG features hidden within game files and websites. Those were stripped out with the creation of Doki Doki Literature Club Plus, possibly due to console limitations or standards. It is possible that the Metaverse site will be a means of reintroducing some of those lost features, or tease other plans from Team Salvato.
