Horizon Forbidden West pre-orders just went live and while many were excited some unexpected news was revealed. Players won't be able to upgrade from the PS4 to the PS5 version for free or even pay for an upgrade.
You can still play the PS4 version on a PS5 but it won't include the performance upgrades. Dual Entitlement is only available on the Digital Deluxe Edition, Collector's, or Regalla Editions but they are entirely separate game purchases.
As for pre-orders, each one available is listed below. With Sony encouraging the digital purchase above physical versions.
The cross-gen Digital Deluxe Edition is exclusively available on PlayStation Store, in addition to Horizon Forbidden West, you’ll receive the following content:
