Halo Infinite may be in trouble

Along with Gears of War Halo is one of Microsoft's biggest IPs. Halo Infinite was set to launch with the Xbox Series X but was delayed after the public demo resulted in negative reception. The game was delayed to 2021 with the Monster Energy promotion, also complementing the original release date, continues to move forward. Well, Halo Infinite has had another set back with Chris Lee departing the project.

In a new report from Bloomberg, 343 Industries’ Chris Lee, who served as a director on Halo Infinite, is now said to have left the project. Lee has served in the company for years and was one of the primary producers for Halo Infinite.

This indicates that there are some issues at work behind the scenes. Halo Infinite is the first live service game in the franchise, with a free-to-play multiplayer mode being offered along with a battle royale mode.

At the moment the project looks to be in a dire state as other titles like Anthem and Mass Effect Andromeda faced similar issues resulting in buggy and underperforming titles that failed to live up to BioWare's reputation. With Halo, this is Microsoft's flagship franchise that carries a huge name. With such an acclaimed IP fans will expect great things from Halo Infinite.

Halo Infinite is set to arrive on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC sometime in 2021.
