YouTube channel Unforgotten Games has released concept art and 3D models of Invaders, a game that would have played similar to Left 4 Dead but within an alien invasion of Britain. Despite the high stakes setting, the cast would have remained everyday citizens thrust into a near impossible battle to survive. However, future technology would have evolved far enough for these people to wield advanced lasers, medical kits, and exo-suits. While most enemies would be aliens of comparable size to humans, bosses would be gargantuan beasts with only a few weak points.
Developer Turtle Rock Studio had created the original Left 4 Dead, but shifted responsibility to another internal Valve studio for the sequel. However, they helped with DLC such as The Sacrifice and The Passing. Turtle Rock later spun off from Valve and worked on Evolve for 2K Games. The shooter was met with mixed reception and was eventually shutdown in 2018. Turtle Rock went on to mostly make games for Oculus, but will return to the Left 4 Dead formula with the new title Back 4 Blood.
