Publisher Capcom has released the fourth free update for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. One of the major features to the patch is the addition of Alatreon to the enemy pool. Download size for the console versions of this new content will land at around 1.4Gb.

For those who have not been back to slaying giants for a while, there's a neat novelty to Monster Hunter World updates: New content is now rolled out on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One at the same time as the PC version. The prior asynchronous state was a point of contention for fans for the longest time, but it has finally been synched up.

More additions include the Tempered Frostbang Barioth, which will appear as a timed event. Another seasonal event, the Sizzling Spice Fest, has special Palico gear, decorative aesthetics and new meals. You'll be able to earn new armor and some rabbit ears through quests, but tickets are also obtainable through just logging in. As always, the update additionally has bug fixes and quality of life improvements, such as an increase in received Screamer Pods. Details can be found on the Monster Hunter site.

One more notable addendum to the update is the effects of the pandemic creeping in. Capcom stated limited voice acting, considering recording is harder to do, while maintaining safe distance. The full quote goes as follows:

"Due to the impact of the global coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, some content in this update features limited voiced dialogue. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding."

The menu-heavy game relays most relevant info in text, so the setback is unlikely to upset anyone, but the transparency is novel for a game company. A fifth update for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne with Master Rank armor and another fan favorite enemy is forthcoming.
