Today during the Day of the Devs: Summer Game Fest Edition, Geoff Keighly took to the livestream to reveal Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time. The last main series Crash Bandicoot game, Crash Bandicoot: Warped, launched nearly 22 years ago in October 1998. While the franchise has seen various titles since, including the smash hit remasters of the original games as well as the remaster of Crash Team Racing, Its About Time is the first entry into the main series in two decades.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time is a totally new game with a slew of new abilities and content. The game will launch on October 2, 2020. The game is being developed by Toys for Bob and Activision, and it is expected to take the Crash franchise to new heights. The game is meant to be a proper continuation of the original trilogy, almost going as far as simply ignoring the PS2 era titles in the franchise. Dr. Neo Cortex has returned, but in doing so he has ripped a hole in space and time, revealing a vast multiverse.

A major new addition to the game are the Four Quantum Masks. These masks are all incredibly powerful and unique, with abilities ranging from slowing time to reversing gravity. Another aspect of Crash 4 is additional playable characters. Off the bat, players will be able to swap between Coco and Crash, but Cortex will also be a playable character to be unlocked down the line.

As previously mentioned, the game is set to launch on October 2nd, 2020. Fans willl be able to get their hands on it sooner than anyone expected.
