Let adventure begin!

The first part and explanation of this adventure can be found here.

It seems this would be the time for our party to make themselves scarce, but with so many guards just on the outside of the room, they decide to hide until this huge deal blows over. Ignacius goes first and hides underneath the delivery table, where there are now a few corpses to hide his person even better. Link goes back to the original plan and hides in the closet, making himself even smaller, to look like linen rags.

Meanwhile Richmond, who is in a nearby room, rummages through some closets to find useful items. He finds numerous things, amongst which some potions, a huge jar used to mop up baby vomit and lots and lots of disinfectant alcohol. After taking one of the potions, it seems he finds himself invisible in the room, which he can see by looking through his hands. That is about the time he notices the reinforcements arriving in full force and he decides to scope it out. Using his mad wizardry logic, he puts all the alcohol in the huge vomit jar and waits for the appropriate time to douse the guards in the alcohol. By doing this, he hopes to create a fire line towards the inferno. While the guards are a little dazed by the random occurrence, they don’t see the alcohol slowly trickling towards the flames. It isn’t long before the alcohol reaches inflammatory temperatures and lights up the room, guards and all.

Luckily, the firemen have been called and arrive to the scene quickly. They start a human chain to get water to the fire and start chucking with all their might. Unfortunately, the water only dissipates the alcohol, making the inferno now spread faster and faster. Even more unfortunate is the fact the firemen aren’t the smartest people in the sector and they continue to try and stop the flames with water. Richmond decides it is time to ditch these jive turkeys and starts looking for the opportune time to head out. He eventually meets up with the rest of the guys in the other room.

There, Ignacius also notices the fire, quickly spreading in all the rooms, and looks to the walls to see if there are weak spots he could exploit. After a while he finds a sweet spot and starts hacking at it with a spear he found in a corpse. As the small hole starts to grow, Link sees the hole as his way to freedom and he rushes inside. He gets a bit caught in the end of it and can only see into the next room, without a possibility to enter it. He also notices a very strange creature being locked in that room and that creature notices him. Before he can move out of the way, the strange little being blesses Shorty with a golden shower, which might not get the appreciation it would like. As Link swings his weapon, he strikes deep into the creature’s foot and it scampers away with the weapon in his foot. This leaves Link in quite a vulnerable state.

Ignacius and Richmond continue to hack at the hole for them to pass through as well and after some time the deed is done. They storm inwards and bulrush the trapped Shorty aside. But now what of the creature? Link negotiates the weapon with the creature, but it will only release it for fetus. This is where Richmond shines, because the deranged individual is actually carrying some for personal use. Very assured he is acting as a humanitarian, he hands over the fetuses to the small creature and it runs off into a corner to consume the goods.

With the fire spreading quickly behind their backs, the party now needs to make haste on an escape. The door of their current location is blocked from the outside, so escaping through there is impossible. The windows are boarded up, but at least breaking those will offer some more light into the situation. After a quick smash the windows reveal to them that they’re in some strange form or rat cage resembling room. However troubling as this may be, they don’t have any time to dwell on it; the fire is at their shins. All the windows of the clinical facility are barred and none of the bars are far apart enough to fit a human through, but that’s nothing a wizard can’t help. With his Polymorph staff, Richmond turns the bars to candy and the party thus liberates themselves from hell!

Once on the outside, they find out that there is still another obstacle to overcome. In front of them stands a smallish forest with a huge ominous wall on the other side. Luckily, they already escaped the hellish blaze, but “they’re not out of the woods yet,” as Link cleverly puts it. It is time for them to search for an exit and break free from these confining walls.

After roaming for a while, they notice a corpse of a previous escapee. Surely, this is a positive omen if ever there were one! Shorty rummages through the fallen’s belongings and takes its backpack filled with travelers goods and various other items. This comes in handy, as he had lost his items being captured earlier on. But there is no time to mourn the losses and they carry on into the forest.

Finally, they reach another wall adjacent to the outskirt wall. Link uses the corner to dexterously climb himself atop towards freedom. Ignacius doesn’t really believe in the prowess and choses a tree to rise above the wall. Unfortunately, he isn’t quite as agile and falls to his demise. After a brief aid from his comrade in floating clothes, Top Hat dusts himself off to try again. He’s a bit more successful this time and a long story short, both Ignacius and Richmond make it across the wall eventually.

They breathe the fresh air of freedom as they gaze upon some sort of marketplace nearby. This will be the perfect time to rest up and plan their next step into the world, now that they have been bonded by faith.
