Taking place in an entirely new setting and with a new protagonist Layers of Fears 2 maintains the same psychological horror of the first game. With frantic moments as you dig deeper into insanity. The protagonist, a Hollywood actor attempting to follow orders of a strange director goes above and beyond in unsettling ways. It's hard to describe but you'll often question what is real and fiction in Layers of Fear 2.
The first game in The Dark Pictures Anthology Man of Medan takes a risk. With the player dawning control of 5 characters as you attempt to recover gold from an old WW2 ship. The characters each have unique personalities that you can shift and alter to cause many different results. You can choose who will die, live, or go insane.
The story does take some risks in storytelling but still provides a dire horror experience during the first run. I say the first run because once you learn the game's secrets you'll start to question everyone's common sense.
