WoW Phase 3 Leveling Guide

Season of Discovery Phase 3 Leveling Tips

Use Questing Routes

A massive chunk of experience, especially at lower levels, comes from questing. To get more XP and hit those levels faster, it's best to travel along optimized routes. We recommend using the RestedXP Guide addon, which will line up the most convenient and effective path to gain experience through the game's quests.

Run Dungeons

WoW Classic Dungeons offer not only tons of XP but also top-tier loot and a chance to experience the best aspects of the game through its instanced content. You can dive into dungeons at almost any stage of leveling — just make sure the dungeon's level matches yours and isn't too high.

Increase Your Damage & Moving Speed

By moving faster, you'll save time and cover more ground, while damage buffs will help you defeat mobs more efficiently, thereby earning your coveted XP faster. Various Enchants, like Fiery Weapon and Minor Speed, can assist with this. Runes will also be of massive help: Starsurge, for example, can drastically increase your leveling speed on a Druid. To amp it up even more, get as many World Buffs as you can on your character to absolutely decimate those mobs.

Do Nightmare Incursions

Nightmare Incursions is a new group activity added in Phase 3. This world event is available in Duskwood, Ashenvale, Feralas, and The Hinterlands, offering a ton of XP via quests, as well as great rewards from the Emerald Wardens. For instance, in Duskwood Incursions alone, you can earn around 100,000 XP per hour, which is just incredible! To make your Incursion leveling more effective, we recommend using the Incursion Quests WeakAura, which shows all available quests in each area, sparing you the need to check your quest log.

Best Phase 3 Leveling Zones

Stranglethorn Vale

Stranglethorn Vale stands out as one of the best questing zones for Phase 3 for both low- to mid-level XP farms and those pushing the early 40s. Packed with mobs, it has tons of kill quests, offering a nicely dense leveling experience. Many starter quests here lead to higher-level ones once completed, which makes it a great starting point for your XP grind. Before diving in, just make sure to grab all quests between Grom'Gol and Booty Bay, as many of them overlap in these areas and you'll be able to complete multiple objectives at once.

Badlands

This zone is perfect when you're around levels 41-42 and all the way up to 45. Starting quests are fairly easy to do and give a good amount of experience. But what really makes it worth your while is that you'll find the Uldaman vault here along with plenty of related quests like Solution to Doom, Power Stones, and some others depending on your faction. Completing these not only offers solid XP but also scores you some sweet loot.

Tanaris

In this zone, you will find the Zul'Farrak dungeon which will give an awesome experience in both gameplay and leveling. Lots of Zul'Farrak quests, like Troll Temper, Scarab Shells, Divino-matic Rod, and more can be picked up in Gadgetzan, so don't forget to swing by there.

Feralas

Before heading there, make sure you grab the Spreecher Spirits quest from Steamwheedle Port in Tanaris. Feralas itself might be a bit tricky to navigate due to the landscape, but it's definitely worth the trip. This zone is home to the higher-tier Incursions, and there's a high mob density here, perfect for farming XP and loot to sell.

Hinterlands

This one is recommended for your late 40s. We also suggest doing the Jintha'Alor Elite questlines in this zone — just be sure to go in with a group, including a tank and a healer, as you'll face loads of higher-level Elites. The run will take about 40 minutes, earning you XP to jump up almost a whole level, so it's definitely a must-do.

Searing Gorge

There are plenty of mobs and quests here, but it's best not to go solo to keep it safe. The respawns are super quick and can catch you off guard, especially deep within caves and mountains, so be careful. Also, if your level is already high enough, you can do Maraudon dungeon runs — there are lots of great quests in this instance, many of them chained, so you'll earn some solid XP and also get a ton of cool gear drops along the way.
