2022 feels like an excellent year for the gaming industry, with much-talked-about Elden Ring, Horizon Forbidden West, SIFU, and even some great indie games like NORCO. Some highly anticipated games initially scheduled to be released in 2021 but postponed due to the epidemic will shortly be released in 2022. AAA and indie developers alike are making the most of current-generation consoles, as seen by their gorgeous and dramatic trailers for their respective titles.

I initially listed down 20 games, but then I decided to make the list shorter. So despite an extensive list of games, here is a list of 12 games that I'm really looking forward to playing in 2022.

God of War Ragnarök

Sony Interactive Entertainment will publish Santa Monica Studio's forthcoming action-adventure game, God of War Ragnarök. The PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 it is slated for release in 2022. As the ninth God of War installment, it will also be the sequel to God of War, released in 2018. Kratos and his teenage son Atreus will take their places as the heroes of the new game, which is based on Norse mythology and set in ancient Scandinavia. It will conclude the Norse period of the series with Ragnarök, a chain of events that brings about the end of days and shows the deaths of various Norse deities, which was predicted to happen in the previous game when Kratos murdered the great Æsir god Baldur in battle.

Final Fantasy XVI

Square Enix will release Final Fantasy XVI, a role-playing action game, on the PlayStation 5 in 2022. Production and direction are handled by Naoki Yoshida (Final Fantasy XIV) and Hiroshi Takami (Final Fantasy XII). FFXVI takes place in the fictitious realm of Valisthea, where six factions are on the edge of war owing to a spreading sickness known as the Blight.

STRAY

BlueTwelve Studio and Annapurna Interactive are working on a new adventure game called Stray. The game, formerly known as HK Project, will be released on PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 in early 2022. A stray cat finds himself in a futuristic world full of robots and viruses, and he sets out to find his way back to his human home.

A Plague Tale: Requiem

For Focus Entertainment, A Plague Tale: Requiem is a survival horror stealth game developed by Asobo Studio and released by Focus Entertainment. Amicia de Rune and her brother, Hugo, go on a second adventure for hope in A Plague Tale: Requiem, the continuing story of A Plague Tale: Innocence. A Plague Tale: Requiem for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S will be released in 2022. Xbox Game Pass members will be able to play the game from the start on consoles, PCs, and the cloud.

Sea of Stars

This RPG is modeled on the old turn-based RPGs. To defeat the horrific inventions of the wicked alchemist known as The Fleshmancer, two Children of Solstice must combine the sun and moon's energies via the use of Eclipse Magic.

Hogwarts Legacy

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment's Portkey Games label will publish Hogwarts Legacy, a forthcoming action role-playing game created by Avalanche Software and powered by Unreal Engine by Avalanche Software. It is based on the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts books and films and takes place in the Wizarding World. PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S will all be able to play the game in late 2022.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink

Granblue Fantasy Project Re: Link, a joint effort between PlatinumGames and Cygames, was revealed as the working title for Granblue Fantasy: Relink in August 2016. Nobuo Uematsu, Tsutomu Narita, and Hideo Minaba are among the game's staff members. As of September, of that year, the PlayStation 4 has been identified as the intended platform for the game. Some characters from the original Granblue Fantasy will make an appearance, although the game takes place in a new setting.

GranBlue Fes 2017 was the first place where the game was exhibited to the public in its entirety. As reported in a Dengeki PlayStation issue in late 2017 by the game's director Tetsuya Fukuhara, the game would include four-player co-operative play and single-player play with three AI characters. Granblue Fantasy: Relink was officially unveiled as the game's title in December last year. At this point, PlatinumGames has decided to leave the project, allowing Cygames to finish the remainder of the work, which was revealed in February 2019. Steam, PS4, and PlayStation 5 will all be available in 2022 for the game's global release.

Gotham Knights

Action role-playing video game Gotham Knights, developed by WB Games Montréal and distributed by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, is scheduled for release in 2015. PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S will be published on October 25, 2022. Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin, and Red Hood, characters from the DC Comics universe who are entrusted with restoring justice to Gotham City after the murder of Batman, star in this action-adventure game. To find out why Batman has vanished, the team must face the ancient Court of Owls and their army of mind-controlled assassins, nicknamed Talons, who have been around since Gotham City was founded.

Soulstice

Invaders from the other side of the Veil, known as "Wraiths," seek to devour the living, threatening to upset the delicate balance of the Holy Kingdom of Keidas! Wraiths can take over their victims and convert them into vicious creatures who prey on the populace. Only the "Chimeras," warrior hybrids created from the union of two souls, can guard humanity.

Both Briar and Lute have reincarnated Chimera sisters. She was sacrificed to do it to ensure that Lute's soul would be bound to Briar's. Now she is a ghost with supernatural powers. Having been destroyed by the Wraiths, Briar and Lute are dispatched to restore a city in ruins, only to learn that the Order they belong to has an even more intricate scheme in mind.

Cult of the Lamb

As a possessed lamb spared from extinction by a sinister stranger, the players in Cult of the Lamb are tasked with repaying the stranger's debt of loyalty. Get out of the realm of false prophets, start your own cult in the wilderness, gather a devoted flock of forest worshipers, and then spread your message until you are known as only one genuine cult.

Forspoken

Forspoken is a future action role-playing video game developed by Luminous Productions and published by Square Enix. Frey Holland (Ella Balinska) is a young lady who is taken from New York City to the mythical country of Athia and utilizes magical skills to go through it and live to find her way back. The Tantas control Athia, including Tanta Sila (Janina Gavankar) and Tanta Prave (Pollyanna McIntosh). Along with Frey, we also meet the sentient bracelet Cuff (Jonathan Cake) and the archivist Johedy (Keala Settle) (Monica Barbaro). October 11, 2022, is the target release date for PC and PlayStation 5.

Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course

Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course will be published as DLC on June 30th, 2022, for the Cuphead video game. There will be a new playable character named "Ms. Chalice," as well as new monsters, levels, and a friendly character called Chef Saltbaker. Cuphead is the DLC's predecessor. A new island awaits Cuphead and Mugman in Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course, a DLC expansion. In Cuphead's last challenging journey, aid Chef Saltbaker by taking on a new cast of multifaceted, screen-filling monsters using Ms. Chalice's revolutionary new skills.
