Halo Reach Multiplayer Review

By Dan, Posted 05 Nov 2010

i decided to move my Halo Reach multiplayer Review to where it should be.

Halo Reach. The latest in the long line of Bungie masterpieces follows the events surrounding the Spartan-II Soldiers of Noble Company. The Game is set on Planet Reach a Human colony in the Halo universe. However like most Games of its Genre the Matchmaking aspect of the Halo franchise is what people buy the games for and Reach has the multiplayer aspect almost perfected to an art form.

The basic principles of multiplayer are all the same, Two Teams battle it out, or Stand alone and fight every other player on various Maps created by Bungie and sometimes with user created maps using Forge World. with several game types to choose from Slayer, Slayer Pro, Headhunter being the usual suspects and the additions of Rally, Infection and Safe Havens you are spolt for choice.

The main differences between Reach's online Multiplayer and the previous installment Halo 3 (Halo ODST pretty much giving you the Multiplayer on a different disc so it doesnt count) is that instead of voting on one random generated place and game type, you choose between three. I like this aspect of it.

But one thing i have noticed with the halo franchise, the melee attack will kill people faster then unloading a clip of battle rifle ammo into them. just a little side thought, i've gotten more kills with melee attacks then any other weapon. so i ask why bother. you know. but aside from that, the maps are huge, and varied. my favourite being pinacle, already users have found the best places for strategic deployment during certain game modes.

The Armoury is really fun addition too, costomising your character with the different helmets etc, and the colors. no prizes for guessing my character looks like Caboose. if i could get Caboose's voice for firefight i would be a happy man. but all in all this installment in the series is one of the best, arguably it is the best, but i still love ODST's story.

Anyway, my 1st unedited unscripted review.. when i have more time i'll go indepth if people so wish.
