Heavy Rain drops Feb. 23

By azn_pride, Posted 15 Jan 2010

Quantic Dream has announced that Heavy Rain will be arriving on the Playstation 3 earlier than expected. With the first quarter of 2010 already crowded as it is, the lineup of games in the next 3 months will be explosive; Heavy Rain is no exception to the cause.  The game will arrive on North America on February 23, the 24th in Europe, and February 26 in the United Kingdom and Ireland regions.

Like Quantic Dream's previous project, Indigo Prophecy (known as Fahrenheit in other regions), Heavy Rain will be heavily based on storytelling and a full-on cinematic experience for players.

Heavy Rain is a thriller about the mysteries behind the enigmatic Origami Killer, who has committed many murders, while known notoriously for leaving a piece of origami on the victims. Several characters will be playable throughout the game, and players will be able to determine how each event pans out they progress.

According to a Giantbomb forum source, Sony has recently unveiled the US box art for Heavy Rain. Having met with less considerable praise, some of the commenters asked if they could acquire the UK box art in some way or another. A representative has said that they will be taking that consideration into account.

Here are the Heavy Rain box arts. You be the judge on which version is better:

  • Awesome cover. I like the UK one too.

  • I've heard many good things about this game and I'm really wondering if it will meet my expectations. I must admit that it intrigues me much...

  • I prefer the UK box art, rather than the poorly made US one. You can just tell they photoshopped the characters and the origami piece itself. I'm glad that they'll let us have the UK box art, so it's all good.

  • I'm not used to saying this, but the UK box art really is much better than the US one.
