Bioware released an expansion pack just one day after the release of their latest role-playing epic fantasy, Dragon Age Origins. Now that the game has been out for four months, Bioware believes it's ready to bring out some downloadable content for its fans.
The first DLC, titled Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening, will be available on March 16, 2010. It will be available on all platforms; Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and the PC. Publisher Electronic Arts has recently announced that Awakening will be listed as $40 on all platforms, and players can purchase this major expansion pack either via digital download or boxed retail. The add-on will be available first in the US, but confirmation outside of the region has yet to be announced. Check into the official website for more details.
Right after the announcement of the first Dragon Age DLC, a second one has been released as well, titled Return to Ostagar. However, its launch has been pulled back immediately. "We found a last minute issue and have delayed Return to Ostagar to ensure we deliver the highest quality experience to our fans. We will update you once we have more information regarding the new date and are working hard to get Return to Ostagar out as quickly as possible," a Bioware representative said.
Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening will feature a new storyline that will focus on the Grey Wardens and the restoration of their society right after the events of the original game's campaign. The game will also include a new Grey Warden to play as, or players can continue with their current ones that they can carry over from the original game. Awakening will also raise the level cap, as well as feature new enemies, abilities, and new party members to recruit. This expansion will also deal with the Darkspawn's activities and a little bit of backstory from them.

I'm probably the only gamer who didn't enjoy Dragon Age. I might not go for the expansion pack. Specially when it has a price tag of $40.
I know at least a person who 'd like these news and that will be among the first to get this expansion, regardless of the price tag, which IMO is big (unless it's as great as the original game).
I still haven't even played this game. Once I get my Ps3, I'll give this a try.
Terrific game indeed. Looking forward to playing the expansion.
