Nintendo Direct Announces New Content For Smash Bros

Three new characters and other new content are all coming soon to Smash

By Artemis, Posted 14 Jun 2015

After speculation and online leaks, it looks like Ryu from the Street Fighter series and Roy from the Fire Emblem Series are joining the Smash roster.  Not only that, but Lucas is back as a DLC character, which many are rejoicing about. Both Ryu and Roy are now available for Purchase.

Fans have been clamoring to have Roy back since his western debut in Smash Bros Melee, helping in bringing awareness to the Fire Emblem Series as a whole. Ryu had been found in a leak quite some time ago, but now has finally been confirmed by Nintendo themselves. Including, a new stage called the Suzaku castle that forces the players to play differently depending on the side of the stage they’re on, giving a more varied style of combat.

There is also a new line of Amiibo toys including the Duck Hunt Dog, Doctor Mario, Mii Fighters, Mr. Game and Watch, Baby Bowser, Ganondorf, Olimar, Zero Suit Samus and R.O.B. There are also some new costumes in case you want to customize your Mii Fighter any further in Smash.

The Classic Dreamland Stage will be available for purchase as well as the Mii Verse stage from the 3DS version. More stages will be coming soon.

Tourneys have finally been improved with elimination style and regular style and they’ll be supporting them in august so they want us to stay tuned.

A replay system will also be added so you can post your matches on YouTube.
