Previously released through digital distributors such as Desura, Green Man Gaming and ShinyLoot, MPR Art Hallucinations' The Lady recently found success through Plug in Digital and will be available via Steam on January 29.
Described as "a 2D Surreal Puzzle Horror adventure," NoobFeed previously talked with The Lady's creator, Michael Patrick Rogers, and he described The Lady as, "one of the weirdest games that you're ever going to f-ing play in your life."
The game is really like a stream of conscious, or a simulation of what it’s like to experience a panic attack from beginning to end. If you pay attention to the body language in the animations of The Lady throughout the game, you’ll notice she’s in a different state/stage of anxiety in each level of the game. The way the game flows is really like a dream, when you dream it’s like you are jarred into different scenes of your own dreams, that is how the game flows. There are no cut scenes, or spelling the story out.
Upon its initial release, we gave The Lady a shot, and to say the least, it truly is one of the weirdest games we've laid our hands on. It received a mediocre score from us, however, beyond the surface of its initial strangeness and simple gameplay, The Lady has an underlying message about mental illness, and more specifically, anxiety and panic disorders.
