Batman Arkham City

Batman Arkham City is the sequel of the famous Batman Arkham Asylum. Instead of concentrating on the gaming experience within the walls of the Asylum, Arkham City takes the stage as a wide area of Gotham City. After taking all the credit for himself by defeating the Joker in the first game, the director of Arkham, Quincy Sharp decided to raise to new heights his plans for the recovery of the worst criminals of Gotham. For this, the megalomaniacal director bought all the poor part of the town, turning the whole area into a giant madhouse. Thus, it is transported to the newly created Arkham City an immense amount of criminals, and the only commandment is: Do not try to escape; laughable, of course.

To oversee the new city, Sharp goes after Hugo Strange, a psychiatrist and also a maniac of the first Batman villains - which seem to have their own plans for the city. But the thing really starts to catch fire e where the infamous Two-Faces, in an attempt to gain status among offenders of Arkham City, elaborates a plan to assassinate  Catwoman. Thus, it is time for Batman to fight again, either to preserve peace in what's left of Gotham or to protect its ancient and unadmitted affair.

A trailer  brought evidence that many villains of the first Batman would be part of the cast of the expanded title. In fact, many have already been confirmed, others are just pure speculation. Check them below:

Catwoman - Yes, the classic hero's affair is present in the title - as suggested by the cat jumping from the first trailer. This is the core of the dubious title, a relationship that inhabits a twilight between romance and rivalry. Batman knows that she crossed the line several times, and violated the law, says Hill. "She's a thief, although he (Batman) is someone who believes you can save."

The Joker - Attendance more than necessary, of course. The original video shows a  battered villain, still in the recovery process by the overdose of poison of the previous title. Of course, his faithful squire, Harley Quinn, is also present.

Two-Face - Another villain who had been "suggested" in the first trailer of  Arkham City. Two-Faces will actually be present. However, forget the kind of corrupted hero by social circumstances that appears in Batman: The Dark Knight embodied by Aaron Eckhart. Maintaining the strong connection between the title and the comic, the villain here will look a lot more cartoonish with Tommy Lee Jones from Batman Forever.

The Riddler - He's back. Or rather, maybe the villain will be actually in the game. That's because, instead of supporting the puzzles in the first title, now you must follow the trail of Nigma through the alleys and narrow streets of Arkham City. How? Squeezing information of smaller caliber. As Hill said: "We're adding more depth to the experience of Nigma".

Victor Zsazs - The bandit from Arkham Asylum is also back. Not only that, but the producers also intend to give Victor Zsazs a role a little more important - something beyond the first mouse killed by Batman. The serial killer now brings with it various side missions - other key figures must also be a subject for such deviations from the main story.

Batman Arkham Asylum has the unquestionable merit of having been one of the few games based on Batman to explore the unique detective side of the hero. Not quite the same in Arkham City. According to the producers, the  scenarios are now experiencing a growing difficulty throughout the game. "As you progress, the whole thing becomes more and more complicated," says producer Sefton Hill. Of course, the "Bat-skills-for-research" does not rest entirely on an innate talent of the protagonist. As always, you will have the assistance of various gadgets, all that will fit within the traditional utility belt. But beyond the items on the first game - C4, Bat-boomerang, harpoon, etc.. - Was also confirmed a smoke bomb and a sensor that tracks broadcast signals. Crowning the new experience, the developers promise not to abuse both the  Detective Vision in the first game.

Here is one of the major concerns regarding Arkham City: Multiplayer. Although nothing has really been confirmed yet, apart from ensuring that internet rumors new multiplayer modes will be included in the sequence. Imagine now if the gameplay is cooperative? Batman and Catwoman chasing bad guys on the roofs of Arkham  - Or competitive...

Anyway, Batman Arkham Asylum left an aura of considerable initial indifference to the current status of one of the best games of superheroes of all time. That's because everything was there: great graphics, a charismatic character, dense atmosphere and a plot full of twists. Arkham City certainly has a beautiful legacy. The question is whether will really innovate to keep pace. Batman Arkham City is scheduled for late 2011. Stay tuned for more updates here on NoobFeed.com.

  • I just hope it doesn't end up into a romantic action game as how it sounds from your review.
