Proving that Internet petitions actually do work sometimes (though still very rarely), Namco Bandai announced that Dark Souls, the hellish follow-up to 2009's masochistic hit Demon's Souls, will be getting a PC release after all. The game will arrive on August 24th.

Titled: Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition, the PC release will see new bosses, areas, enemies, equipment and more, though the game will remain largely the same as the PS3 and 360 versions. No word yet on whether this content will come to consoles.

Our own Marco Cecilio awarded the game with a 93 out of 100, praising the game's hard-as-nails nature and it's unique multiplayer component. You can read his full review here.

  • @Amaya: Nope, I have the PS3 version and me PC isn't good enough to run this. I just hope the extra stuff that they are giving to PC people finds its way on the PS3. Even if it is paid DLC, I'd likely still get it.
