The wait is finally over: Ubisoft will bring Assassin's Creed III to consoles later this year. October 30 - a little earlier than the usual launch in November, as has happened so far with the previous titles.
After we followed the story of Ezio Auditore in Brotherhood and Revelations, we'll finally learn more about the influence of the secret order over the years. However, it has not yet been revealed any historic moment, though rumors suggest something during the French Revolution or the Independence of the United States. Ancient Egypt and China have also been bandied about by rumors. So far, the only information that is certain is that we will have a new protagonist, although nothing has been said about it.
The revelation of the release date of Assassin's Creed III came during a meeting with investors at Ubisoft. According to the president of the studio, Yves Guillemot, the game's development is already underway for three years and all the work done so far is fantastic. No platform was announced, but it is believed that the game will be released for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.

I can't say I have been waiting for it for awhile...I still have the first and the second unplayed. And yea it's not like the franchise hasen't had a game in ages...Didn't one come out a few months ago? Was it a prequel or something? Either way it was hardly a long wait.
"The wait is finally over" - Funny. How entitled do you have to be for an annual release to feel like forever? Seriously, Ubi can take a little rest as far as I'm concerned. Maybe launch another Rayman Origins-like game. That game was awesome.
